Estimator

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and on time. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of construction and engineering processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Bid Preparation: Develop and submit bids for new projects, ensuring all requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Quantity Take-Offs: Perform accurate quantity take-offs from plans and specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Vendor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets, identifying potential cost savings and areas of concern.
  • Risk Analysis: Identify and assess potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, bid proposals, and project costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals and requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating, preferably in [your industry].
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills to accurately estimate project costs and quantities.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure precision in estimates and bids.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently as needed.
  • Certifications: Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) certifications are a plus.
